Israel.... Haifa, Mt. Carmel, and Tiberias

After visiting Caesarea we went on to Haifa.  We went to the middle of the city where a cemetary contains two graves of the first LDS Missionaries that where in Israel. They both got really sick and ended up passing away while on there mission. We wanted to pay respect to them and so we ended up placing a rock on each grave.  It is the Jewish custom to place a rock on the top of the grave.  After placing the rocks on the graves we sang Called to Serve.  What a spiritual experience I had.  I could feel the spirit so strong and had another confirmation that Nik is doing what is right.  Missionary work is so important and there are so many people in search of the Gospel.  It was nice to be there and feel of the spirit and know that these missionaries that passed away where just trying to spread the gospel to all those who would hear it.  After leaving the cemetary we went to the Baha'i Shrine.  It was so beautiful and I got a lot of awesome pictures of the city.  Once we finished up at the Shrine we made our way to Mt. Carmel.  This is where we went to a overlook of the Valley of Armageddon.  We had a really touching lesson on the prophecies of what will happen there and had time to look around and contemplate the second coming. I am so grateful for this experience and how it allowed me to really think about my future and where I want to be spiritually when that time comes.  It is something that I will continue to work on and try and be the best person so that I am ready for that day.

Hello Everyone!!!

Me at Haifa
Shrine in Haifa
They had tons of citrus trees... These were some orange trees.

This is the Monastery we visited on the top of Mt Carmel. We went to the very top and went to lookout over the Valley of Armageddon. It was so amazing to lookout over this valley and realize what is going to take place here and what has to happen for us to get to that point. All I have to say is that it makes you really think about how you are living your life and what choices you are making. I am so grateful for this experience and for the blessings that it has brought into my life.

Me at the overlook at the Valley of Armageddon. After leaving the Monastery we went past this old tomb that would have been what the Saviors tomb was like. It was just kind of interesting to be driving down the road and then all of sudden they were pointing out this little tomb to us.

After a long day of sight seeing we ended up going to the town of Tiberias.  This is where the hotel was for the next few days.  We stayed at the Ron Beach Hotel which was very nice. I had a great time in Tiberias.... we did a lot of wandering around the little city when we would get back at night. The nice thing about the hotels is that they always fed us breakfast and dinner. So we never had to worry about what we would do because we would just go to the dinning room. After dinner the first night Patty, Travis, and I went and wandered around down by the Sea of Galilee. They had a little light show kind of like the one in Vegas . It is a lot smaller, but we had a good time watching it. The only bad thing was that it was all in Hebrew so we had no idea what they were saying...... but it made for a good end to the day.
